When you visit a stately home, museum, art gallery or garden, it’s quite likely that the person who welcomes you with a smile and helpful information will be a Heritage Volunteer.

Heritage Volunteers are TAS members who, for example, act as stewards and interpreters in museums, galleries and gardens, mend books and catalogue artefacts, paint children’s faces or tell them stories - above all, share their enthusiasm for some branch of arts and crafts.

If you’d like to give practical support to the arts locally, and have fun along the way, you too  might become a volunteer.

TASM does not have a formal Heritage project, but within easy reach of Woking there is scope for all manner of activities. Usually, commitment is flexible and you can devote just as much time as you can spare.

A number of our members volunteer at the Lightbox, Woking’s award-winning art gallery and museum.

Whatever your interest, expertise or skill there is a role just waiting for you to fill it.

TASM members also volunteer at National Trust Hatchlands, Brooklands Museum, RHS Wisley Gardens and Surrey History Centre.
